The labels we use

Disclosure labels appear on the article or review itself, never only in a policy page like this one.
Label	What it tells you
Independent editorial	Written by the desk. Nobody paid for it or approved it.
Sponsored content	Paid for by an advertiser. Not written by the desk.
Partner content	Produced with a content partner. Editorial kept final say.
Developer-provided information	Supplied by the party selling the asset. Their claim, not our finding.
Data not independently verified	We could not confirm these figures. Treat them as claims.
Commercial relationship disclosed	A commercial relationship exists with a party named on the page.
Affiliate relationship disclosed	We may earn a commission from a link on the page.

Why sponsored content looks different

Sponsored items carry a distinct colour, a distinct label and a distinct border, on the page and in every listing that links to them. If you cannot tell at a glance who paid for something, the disclosure has failed.
