Sources we cite
We curate the reporting. We verify the claims. We explain what it means for investors. This directory lists every organisation we monitor, how we classify it, and why — so you can judge our judgement.
Government sources
- Tourism MalaysiaNational tourism authority. The primary source for Malaysian visitor-arrival figures and origin-market data; also monitored for campaign targets, which we treat as goals rather than forecasts.
- DOSMOfficial national statistics agency. The primary source for accommodation supply, occupancy series and tourism satellite accounts used across our market dashboards.
- LTA SingaporeSingapore's land-transport authority. The primary source for RTS Link facts — the single most cited piece of infrastructure in the Johor Bahru hotel investment case.

Recognised research consultancys
- JLLReal-estate research consultancy. We use JLL research for serviced-apartment pricing, hotel transaction evidence and supply-pipeline estimates in KL and Johor.
- Knight FrankProperty consultancy. We use Knight Frank research for branded-residence market structure and prime-property benchmarks relevant to hotel-branded schemes.
Established news publications
- BERNAMAThe Malaysian National News Agency. We monitor BERNAMA for government policy announcements, tourism statistics releases and corporate hospitality news, and treat it as the fastest reliable record of what was officially said.
- CNASingapore's international news network. We monitor CNA for cross-border travel behaviour, RTS Link progress and Singaporean spending patterns in Johor — the demand side of the JB hotel investment case.
- The StarMalaysian English-language daily. We monitor The Star for Johor and Klang Valley hotel-market reporting, occupancy trends and state tourism policy. StarPicks advertorial content is tracked under a separate promotional classification.
- NSTMalaysian English-language daily. We monitor NST for hotel-industry corporate news, medical-tourism coverage and federal policy affecting hospitality investment.
- The EdgeBusiness and investment weekly. We monitor The Edge for developer balance-sheet analysis, hospitality transactions and property-market data — and separately flag its advertorial inventory.
- 南洋商報Chinese-language business daily. We monitor Nanyang's property pages for KL luxury-segment reporting and developer activity aimed at Chinese-speaking buyers — a market segment English-language coverage often misses.
- 星洲日報Chinese-language national daily. We monitor Sin Chew for property and hospitality coverage reaching Chinese-speaking investors in Malaysia and the region.
